Dune repair and vegetation - beyondeyelevel
On the left is re growth Pigface now coming down the dune face. If given a chance the Pigface spreads quite well. At the base of the dune centre right is an accumulation of dead garden materials and Singapore Daisy which I am raking out and removing. The dune has only limited capacity to recycle dead plant material, a fact which is not generally appreciated. Note lawn grass growing in foreground a consequence of dumping. Note vigourous Pes Carpae plant on lower right; these are to be encouraged. The coutour of this section of dune is reasonable, not 30 degrees which is ideal, but somewhere in the range of 30 to 45 degrees.
